Scattered across Axum, the throne bases serve as
silent witnesses to the grandeur of the ancient Axumite Empire. These
remarkable relics can be found at key locations around the city: three throne
bases on the western side of Mai Kuho (numbered 16, 17, and 18), two at the
Nubre-Ed palace (19 and 20), and five across from the Ezana Garden (21, 22, 23,
24, and 25). Thought to have once supported statues during the early Axumite
period, these throne bases offer visitors a glimpse into the regal and
spiritual might that defined the ancient city, drawing history lovers and
culture enthusiasts to uncover the story behind these monumental remains.
